Before you start

Choose the Google account that should represent the business when your team sends customer email.

  • Use a Google account that your business controls.
  • Confirm you can manage Communication Channels in LaniTech.
  • Add an email address to each contact you plan to email.
  • Review the permissions below before approving Google access.

Authorize the Gmail channel

The connection starts from the Add Channel side panel and continues on Google's authorization page.

SettingsCommunicationsAdd Channel
  1. 1

    Choose Email

Enter or confirm the Channel Name, then set Channel Type to Email.
  2. 2

    Select Gmail

Choose Gmail as the provider. LaniTech normally fills the channel name when it is still blank; review it before continuing.
  3. 3

    Start Google authorization

Select Get Gmail Code. The current browser window redirects to Google's account selection and consent flow.
  4. 4

    Choose the business account

Sign in to the correct Google account, review the requested access, and approve only if the account and permissions are correct.
  5. 5

    Confirm the saved channel

After Google's callback completes, return to Communication Channels and confirm that a Gmail channel card is present.

What the Active badge means

The channel card confirms that LaniTech received a saved email configuration. It does not run a live Gmail health check. Send a real message to a controlled test contact before using the channel with customers.

Understand the Google permissions

LaniTech requests only the Gmail scopes used by the current connection flow, but one of them permits broad read access.

Restricted scope

View Gmail messages and settings

The gmail.readonly scope allows the integration to view messages and Gmail settings so supported conversation threads can be refreshed.

Sensitive scope

Send email on your behalf

The gmail.send scope allows LaniTech to send messages through the authorized Google account.

OAuth keeps the Google password with Google

You approve access on Google's website; the LaniTech form never asks for the Google password. Review Google's official Gmail scope reference for the current permission definitions.

Use the configured Gmail channel

The email channel becomes available only in workflows that already support email.

Conversations

Customer conversations

Open a customer thread, choose Email, add a subject, and send. The contact must have an email address.

Payments

Invoices

Choose Send via email from an invoice. LaniTech verifies that an email channel exists before generating and sending the document.

Payments

Quotations

Send a saved or newly composed quotation by email from its document actions.

Remove or revoke Gmail access

Removing the LaniTech channel and revoking the Google authorization are separate actions.

  1. 1

    Delete the LaniTech channel

Open Communication Channels, use the delete action on the Gmail card, and confirm the permanent removal.
    SettingsCommunications
  2. 2

    Review Google account access

Open Google's third-party connections page and revoke the LaniTech authorization if the account should no longer grant access.

Troubleshoot the connection

Use these checks before reconnecting or requesting support.

  • If Get Gmail Code is disabled, confirm that the Channel Name is not empty.
  • If Google rejects the request, verify that you selected the intended account and approved both requested scopes.
  • If no Gmail card appears after the callback, reopen Communication Channels before attempting another authorization.
  • If email is unavailable in Conversations, confirm the customer has an email address and the Gmail channel card still exists.

For the other available channels, return to the Communication Channels overview.
