Choose how to sell

Both options record the same kind of sale, reduce stock, and give you a receipt. Pick the one that suits the moment.

  • Open either one from Transactions: Quick sale for the form, Tablet POS for the till.
  • On mobile, tap + in the bottom bar and choose Quick sale to open the tablet POS directly.
  • You can switch between the two while ringing up a sale; your unfinished order is kept.

Record a quick sale

Use the Quick sale form when you only need to ring up a few items.

  1. 1

    Open Quick sale

Select Quick sale at the top of Transactions.

    Choose the customer

  2. 2

    Build the order

Tap product tiles to add them, filter by category, or search and scan barcodes. Sold-out items are marked and made products show how many you can make.
  3. 3

Add customer details and a note

Leave it as a walk-in sale or select a customer. Add an order note or an order discount when needed.
  4. 4

    Take payment and complete

Choose a payment method, use the keypad for cash tendered, and check the change to give. Complete the sale once the money is received.

Only sellable items appear

Raw materials never appear in the POS. Products with no stock show as Sold out, and made products are limited by their raw materials.

Receipts

Every recorded sale has a receipt you can preview, print or share.

  • After a sale, preview the receipt and print it. Choose the receipt paper width that matches your printer.
  • Use Print bill on the tablet POS to print an order before payment.
  • Open Last receipt on the tablet POS to reprint the most recent sale.
  • From Transactions, use a row's actions to view, download, print or share its receipt.

Review transactions

Transactions lists money received from sales and invoice payments.

  • Paid transactions are shown by default; use the status filter to see pending or failed payments.
  • Search by customer, reference or amount, and filter by date range and currency.
  • Export the transactions you are viewing.
  • Set up how customers can pay under Payment settings.

Record money out

Record a payment you made as a business expense without leaving Transactions.

  • Choose Record money out on Transactions to open the expense form.
  • The expense is saved under Expenses with its category, payee and payment method.

Access and cautions

Recording sales needs the create transactions permission.

  • Without the create transactions permission, Quick sale and Tablet POS are disabled.
  • Record a sale only after the payment has actually been received.
  • Check the sale currency before recording; amounts are not converted automatically unless exchange rates are configured.
