Understand the pipeline workspace

One pipeline can be viewed as a board, a list, or an analytics summary.

Pipeline Settings opens pipeline management

The settings action returns you to pipeline selection and management; it is not a separate configuration page.

Create a pipeline

Start from an industry template when it fits, or define a custom stage model for your team.

  1. 1

    Open pipeline management

Use the pipeline selector to switch pipelines, create one, or manage an existing pipeline.

  2. 2

    Choose a starting model

Select an available industry template or choose a custom pipeline when the preset stages do not match your process.
  3. 3

    Define stages and fields

Name the pipeline, review its stages, and add the custom fields needed to qualify or hand off opportunities.
  4. 4

    Save and verify the selector

Confirm the new pipeline appears in the selector before adding customer opportunities to it.

Add an opportunity

Connect each opportunity to a person and an owner so the next action is clear.

  1. 1

    Start a new opportunity

Open the intended pipeline first, then choose the new-opportunity action.

  2. 2

    Add the required context

Enter an opportunity name, select a contact, and choose an available assignee.
  3. 3

    Set the commercial position

Add value, stage, source, and any custom field responses that your team uses to qualify work.
  4. 4

    Save into the correct pipeline

Verify the opportunity appears in the expected stage before continuing with follow-up.

Use the board for flow and the list for control

Choose the view that best matches the change you are making.

Move a deal on the board

Drag an opportunity to another stage when your role can update the pipeline. Confirm the new stage after the move.

Update several in the list

Select multiple opportunities to use the available bulk move or delete actions.

Edit a stage

Change a stage name and, where used, its optional value from pipeline management.

Switch pipelines deliberately

Check the selected pipeline before moving, deleting, or creating opportunities.

Find the opportunities that need attention

Combine quick filters with specific value, source, owner, and sorting controls.

  • High value uses the current fixed threshold of $10,000 or more.
  • Needs follow-up focuses on opportunities with outstanding follow-up.
  • Recent uses the last seven days.
  • Stale uses 30 days or more without the relevant recent activity.
  • Advanced filters include minimum and maximum value, source, and assignee.
  • Sort by name, value, date, or follow-up when comparing results.

Filter thresholds are interface rules

The High value, Recent, and Stale shortcuts use the current fixed thresholds shown above. They are not automatically calibrated to your sales cycle or currency.

Work from the deal record

Open an opportunity when you need full context or a decision that should remain attached to the deal.

  • Review contact, value, source, assignee, stage, and custom fields.
  • Move the stage or mark the outcome won or lost when authorized.
  • Keep notes, documents, and tags with the opportunity.
  • Use messaging and appointments when those connected modules are available.

Calling is not available from this screen

The current deal interface reports the call action as unavailable. Use a supported communication channel rather than treating Call as an active workflow.

Read pipeline analytics

Use analytics as a view of the selected pipeline, then return to the records when you need to explain a result.

  • Compare total opportunity value and deal count.
  • Use average value as context, not as a quality score.
  • Review conversion alongside the underlying won and lost records.
  • Compare value by stage and the distribution of opportunities.

Analytics values are displayed in USD

The pipeline analytics interface currently formats monetary values as USD. Do not interpret the totals as converted reporting when your underlying opportunities use another currency.

Check access before changing pipeline structure

Pipeline actions depend on the permissions assigned to your role.

Deleting a pipeline can remove its working context

Confirm the exact pipeline before deleting it. The interface warns that its stages and opportunities may be removed with it; use a less destructive change when the records still matter.
  • Creating opportunities is currently gated by the create-pipeline permission.
  • Moving deals and editing stages require pipeline update access.
  • Deleting pipelines or selected opportunities requires the corresponding delete access.
  • Connected messaging, calendar, and contact actions keep their own availability rules.
